I have been very remiss & not yet welcomed Debbie & Jamie Walker & family, who have taken over the Elm Tree Inn – it is great to see it looking so smart and busy and I’m looking forward to trying the new menu soon.
We wish you well and hope it will be a roaring success.
ANYONE who didn’t come to the Village Club talk by Mark Ching on ‘The Thatcher’s Tale’ missed a cracking evening – he is one of those people who love the job they do, is a knowledgeable, confident speaker & I, for one, will never look at a thatched roof with the same eyes!
We now have a break of 2 months & start again on Tuesday, 6th September with a speaker from the Dorset Wildlife Trust.
MONDAY, 27th June there is the AGM of the Village Hall at 7.30pm, please don’t sigh and say ‘so what’, it is YOUR Hall and you should come and hear how the year has gone – what the plans are for the future – elect the committee & even if you haven’t anything you want to say, at least show support for the hard work done in your name to keep this attractive, useful, & historic building going.
I am a past chairman and know how dispiriting it is to see only the committee & one or two faithfuls - so come on – put it in your diaries NOW.
IF YOU go for a walk, head out on the Coastguard road, climb the stile walk out & look down towards the Brook – the field is a sea of white moon daisies and a sight for sore eyes.
