THERE are only five days left to vote for an 18-year-old Westham girl to become Miss England.
In the last few weeks Shiralee Gould has gone on from being crowned Miss Popularity in the Miss Dorset competition, to being awarded the title of Miss Weymouth and now she’s competing against beauty queens up and down the country for the Miss England competition.
The teenager, who is currently studying animal management at Kingston Maurward Agricultural College said: “I just want to inspire other young girls up and down the country.
“It is having beauty with a purpose – I really want to stop the stereotypes that people have of these competitions and the girls that enter.
“Please pick up the phone and go online to vote for me and make Weymouth win.”
Shiralee is currently finishing her first year of her course and has aspirations to go on and set up her animal rescue centre.
Local bridal company Bridal and Ball in Weymouth sponsored Shiralee and lent her two stunning dresses to get her through the competition.
Her mum Michelle Lane said: “I am so, so proud and so is the whole family.
“We are all behind her and hope the whole town will support her too.”
Shiralee and her family are fundraising for charity as part of the campaign to see her crowned as the winner.
The crowning ceremony for Miss Dorset took place in Banus last month on the seafront where friends, family and fans turned up to cheer on the 14 girls who were in the final.
Leading up to the final all the girls were given a challenge – to raise as much cash for the Weymouth Lifeboats as possible.
Crowned overall Miss Dorset was Larissa Hirst.
Shiralee managed to raise £105 for Weymouth RNLI.
The regional Miss England rounds will now take place on June 13 in Leicestershire.
