I await with interest ex-councillor Richard Denton-White’s latest windmill to be tilted (Your Say, May 31).
Fresh from his sallies with the Citizens Advice Party and the Alternating Vote Party he is now waving the flag for the Independence Rump Party. What next for this island polymath – the ‘Save Our Dinosaurs In Tophill’ movement?
I doubt whether his short time as a councillor has allowed him to understand the dynamics of local politics.
To ‘respect’ a man who has lost the respect of his colleagues and who has turned his back on the voters who gave him their trust seems a very questionable position to adopt.
This is a councillor who was parachuted into the leader’s position.
The position has now been returned to the original dependable councillor.
As a retired ward chairman I have to say that our two ward councillors are most responsible and very hardworking and would never dream of abandoning their supporters.
Mr Denton-White’s attempts to belittle all the local councillors instead of the few turncoats says much about his own failure to become a trusted people’s representative.
