TWO MOUNTAIN bikes worth hundreds of pounds were stolen from a block of flats in Crossways.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the bikes were taken from a foyer at flats at Hope Close, where they were chained to a tool chest.
They were last seen at midnight on Sunday, May 29 and the owner reported the theft to police the following morning.
One of the mountain bikes was a blue Carrera Griffin with some slight modifications.
The bike was in good condition and valued at around £1,000 and had been used for fundraising cycle rides.
The second bike was a white women’s Carrera Vulcan, valued at £400.
Police Constable Tony Skeldon, of Dorchester Police, said: “The victim – a 30-year-old Dorchester man – is extremely keen to recover these two mountain bikes.
“They are valuable bikes and the loss has caused him considerable inconvenience. I am appealing for witnesses and anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of these bikes to speak with Dorset Police.”
