The Big4Littlemoor lottery funding machine is gathering momentum.

Throughout the coming months there will be many social events where you can go to get more information, ask questions and hopefully join in.

The events, aimed at young and old alike will be advertised on the new notice board shortly to go up outside the Co-Op, or you can check them out at the library notice board.

Those of you with computers and internet access can now get involved by logging on to www.littlemoorlive.ning.com.

Join in the many discussion groups or start a discussion of your own, you can also upload photos and videos and check out the many exciting events being held to get the community involved in the £1m lottery grant.

We need as many people as possible to join in and make their opinions known as to how Littlemoor can benefit the most from this fantastic windfall.

Don’t forget to get along to the library on Thursday 9th June between 2.30 and 4pm.

A senior member of the library staff will be there to listen to your concerns and answer your questions about the proposed closure Please go along, the library is an essential part of our community and its loss would cause inconvenience to everybody.

Having to travel to Weymouth to borrow books would cost each of us extra in bus fares, petrol, parking charges etc.

And in the long run it would also mean our children, who use the library regularly, will no longer have easy access to information for homework or access to the internet.

The elderly will no longer find it easy to ‘pop down the library’ and the current home delivery service for the housebound will probably stop too.

Now the new road is finished it is also easier for people from further afield to use our library and they in turn use our shops.

It’s not just a library, it’s our community’s focal point and we need to do everything to keep it.
