A WEYMOUTH man appeared in court where he admitted possessing cocaine with intent to supply it.
Darren Paul Chapman, aged 43, of Norfolk Road, pleaded guilty to having the Class A drug in his possession with intent to supply it to another but on the basis that he was merely a custodian of the drug and this was accepted by the Crown Prosecution Service.
He also admitted possession of cannabis with intent to supply that drug.
David Lyons, representing Chapman, said: “The quantity of cocaine was given to him by persons known to him, who he is not prepared for his personal safety to name, who would collect them later.
“They were not his to deal.”
Judge Roger Jarvis said: “You are due to be sentenced for two serious matters and the likelihood is that you will receive a sentence of imprisonment for your involvement in the dealing of drugs.
“Before I make my mind up I want to know more about you and I have arranged for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.”
The case was adjourned until July 1 so that the pre-sentence report can be prepared.
