A DORCHESTER pub will be hosting live music and a family fun day over the weekend to raise cash for charity.
The Old Ship Inn in High West Street will be holding the pirate-themed fundraiser in aid of Julia’s House, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and a friend of the family who suffers with cerebral palsy.
‘A Tale of Pigs and Pirates’ will kick off at 10pm tonight with live music from Weymouth band The Dolmen.
Tomorrow, the pub will be holding a family day where people are encouraged to come dressed as pirates.
Manager at The Old Ship Inn Kelly Dyer said there will be live music, a barbecue, face painting and a cider festival.
Bands performing tomorrow will be The Bilge Rats, The Relays and The Devils Rejects.
For every pint sold, 10p will be go towards the three chosen charities as well as money raised from a raffle, the barbecue and face painting.
Miss Dyer said: “This event is our way of showing that we are a family run pub and we like to get children and families involved with what we’re doing.
“Sunday is a day for all the family and we hope everyone comes down and has fun while raising money for a good cause.”
The event is free of charge and children will receive a party pack on arrival. For more information contact Miss Dyer at The Old Ship Inn on 01305 264455.
