Free courses offering support for carers are set to begin in the borough.
The four-week Carer Support Programme, run by St John Ambulance Service, will start in Weymouth on Thursday, June 9 and continue on a weekly basis.
Spokesman Alison Glenn said: “The courses are free to carers of relatives, friends or neighbours at home.
“We teach the obvious first aid but also specialise in dealing with common problems that carers encounter.
“Equal weight is given to encouraging carers to look after themselves.”
