A WOMAN celebrated her 30th birthday by jumping 15,000ft out of a plane for charity.
Kate Morris, from Weymouth, works in the Yeovil office of law firm Porter Dobson in the personal injury department.
Her husband Mark suggested a birthday party to celebrate the milestone birthday but Kate elected to do her bit for charity instead, choosing the Weldmar Hospice Care Trust as it supported a relative.
Kate, who did her jump at Dunkeswell airfield in Devon and raised more than £300 for the cause, said she really enjoyed the experience.
She added: “My mother-in-law passed away at the hospice six years ago. She had emphysema. Every year we join the families of other hospice supporters in Light for Life, sponsoring a light on the Christmas tree in the name of a loved one, and I felt that the time had come when I wanted to do something more.” Major events fundrasing manager at Weldmar, Sue Leighton, said: “On behalf of Weldmar we would like to express our thanks to Kate and to everyone who supported her with sponsorship.”
