THE travellers who said they would have left Prince Charles’s land on Poundbury by Sunday had still not vacated by last night.
One caravan did leave The Great Field over the weekend but three caravans still remained on the site yesterday.
Four caravans and a number of cars arrived on The Great Field overlooking homes in Peverell Avenue East last Monday and were given one week to leave by landowner the Duchy of Cornwall.
A Dorset County Council spokesman had previously said he was confident the travellers, who travelled from Paignton in Devon, would stick to their word.
Yesterday, the spokesman said: “The gypsy and traveller liaison officer has spoken with the travellers today who said they would be gone by the afternoon.
“If they’re still not gone by tomorrow, she is going to visit them again.
“We will then advise the Duchy to take action to move them.”
The Great Field at Poundbury will be the venue for the Dorchester Football Club Community Fun Day this Sunday and organisers have said the event will go ahead even if the travellers are still there.
Dave Read, one of the organisers, said: “Whatever happens we will continue with our fun day.”
Duchy development manager Simon Conibear was unavailable for comment.
