Cerne Abbas CHALK Legends is a community-based project to celebrate Dorset’s history and folklore.
Individuals, bands, choirs, artists or schools are invited to attend a meeting in the Village Hall on Tuesday, June 21 at 7:30pm to discuss this project.
It is led by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and will be based on a series of works written by an award-winning composer.

AN ADVANCE notification of this year’s Chuch Fete which will take place on Saturday, July 2.
Starting at 12:30pm it will be opened by Rev. Jonathan Still.

There will be lots of stalls and competitions, classic cars and steam engines.
The novelty dog show will start at 1:30pm with the tug-o-war thereafter.

Nether Cerne A HIGH Summer Evening featuring Colin Varndell will by held on Friday, June 17.
This event in support of The Dorset Historic Churches Trust will present his photographic work entitled “Hidden Dorset”.
Tickets are £ 6 and on sale now.
You will also be able to admire an exhibition of Colin’s work alongside it.
Buckland Newton SQUASHBOX Theatre presents “Skillywidden”, an Artsreach production ready for half term!
It will take place in the Village Hall on Friday, June 3 at 10:30am.
“Skillywidden”, a tale of five faerie races in Cornwall is suitable for children aged five and over, tickets are £ 5 for adults, £ 4 per child and £ 16 for a family ticket.

CROCUS Walk 2011: This year’s walk, combined with the Auction of Promises, raised over £ 3,000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer!
What’s more, due to everyone’s generosity, no expenses are involved, so every penny will go to this excellent cause.
A group of locals will by now have visited a “Challengers’ Tea Party” at the Royal College of Pathologists in London to see how the money is being used.

Charlton Down A QUIZ Night will be held at the Village Hall on Satuday, June 11.
Teams of four to six people are invited to take part, the evening commences at 7:30pm.
