ON SUNDAY the travellers who had set up camp on Poundbury’s Great Field were still there despite hopes that they would leave by Sunday.
Some Poundbury residents have been angered by a group of travellers parking four caravans on the field at Prince Charles’s model development.
The travellers arrived a week ago today from Paignton in Devon and set up camp with their four caravans and numerous cars.
After arriving, the travellers were given a week’s notice by the landowner the Duchy of Cornwall.
Dorset County Council said it had been told the group planned to leave the estate by Sunday.
Walking nearby the site on Sunday, Poundbury resident Maggie Taylor said: “It’s a disgrace that people can just turn up and set up in a field such as this.
“I just hope they co-operate and vacate the site on Monday.”
