A MAN had part of his ear bitten off in a gruesome attack in Weymouth.
Two women have been arrested in connection with the assault which happened outside the Cutter Hotel pub in East Street, just off the seafront.
Police have just released details of the incident on the evening of Friday May 13, which involved four men on a weekend stag do.
One of the ‘stags’ was highly recognisable has he had been wearing a ‘mankini’ style leopard print swimsuit, say police.
Detectives said the group struck up a conversation with a group of women outside the pub.
A 39-year-old man, visiting the town from Devon, was allegedly assaulted later.
He received specialist treatment at Odstock Hospital in Salisbury.
Detective Constable Ed Meanwell of Weymouth CID said: “During the incident a group of four men were outside the pub as part of a stag weekend party.
“One in particular was dressed in a leotard style swimsuit, also known as a ‘mankini’.
“They engaged in conversation with two women and subsequently an incident took place where one of the men had part of his ear bitten off and had to receive treatment at Odstock Hospital.”
DC Meanwell added: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone who may be able to assist the investigation, to contact police urgently.”
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 01305 222222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
