ON SUNDAY, May 29th there is a United Benefice Communion in Portesham at 10.30 am., it is going to be very special as we will be saying goodbye to the Rev. Jack Elwin, as he retires from his ministry in the Benefice.
We are so grateful for his work & prayerful input over the years and are very pleased that we will still see Jack & Anne in our congregations.
THE LUNCH Club is meeting on Tuesday, 24 May at 12 noon and we are looking forward to good food and excellent company.
THE GARDEN Club is having a Members Question Time on Tuesday, 24th May at 7.30 pm, followed by a glass of wine and nibbles (members bring a small plateful), we may be able to answer your gardening questions but will have good fun anyway!
THE VILLAGE Meeting took place on the 18th May – a disappointing number of residents welcomed Ray Doggett as our new Parish Councillor to join Sheila Milton – a vote of thanks was given to retiring PC Alan Luck for all the time, effort & hard work he has put in for us.
Mrs Milton was elected chairman & Mr Doggett vice-chairman and then lively discussions took place on topics ranging from planning through sign posts, to the on going saga of works on the B3157 – I think we gave them both a lot of work to be going on with! The next Village Meeting will be Wednesday, 19th October, put it in your diaries now, so YOU can have a say in the running of YOUR village.
