AFTER four years of waiting a happy couple are delighted to welcome their son into their family.
Kerry Kellaway, 29, and Paul, 25, from Broadmayne had been trying for a baby for four years after they got married, but were left heartbroken after trying three treatments of IVF with no result.
Their doctor suggested a different type of treatment known as ICSY, but it can only be tried twice.
Kerry said: “We were trying to think positively but you can’t get your hopes up.
“We were really lucky because the first treatment worked – thank goodness.”
She added: “I was supposed to wait until Sunday to see if the eggs had taken but I couldn’t wait and I did a pregnancy test on Thursday and it said it was positive but very weakly.
“I went out and bought five pregnancy tests and did one each day. I couldn’t believe it. The feeling was just so wonderful, it was really exciting.” Riley John Kellaway was born on April 13 weighing 7lbs and 14ozs at Dorset County Hospital.
His proud parents say he is a contented and happy baby who sleeps and eats well.
Kerry said: “Every baby is special but when you have a problem it’s more of a miracle, you appreciate things more.”
Kerry and Paul would like to thank Paul’s mum and dad, Paul’s sister and Kerry’s sister for their support. They would also like to thank the staff at the Poundbury clinic, the Winterbourne clinic, the midwives at Dorset County Hospital and the Green midwife team at Puddletown doctor’s surgery.
