I’m just writing in disgust about another dog attack (‘Vicious dog in terror attack’, Echo, May 3).
I’m an owner of a four-year old Staffordshire bull terrier who is always on his lead apart from the times we go to fields or the beach.
Even then if I see another dog in the area I call mine and place him on his lead even though he’s not a threat or danger.
It is owners like the woman mentioned in the story who give the majority of us bull terrier owners a bad name. To attack victim Susan Laidlow I’d like to apologise for this owner’s ignorance.
I hope her puppy Sky returns to normal as soon as possible. It’s a shame as I know she won’t look at the bull terrier breed in the same way again.
All I can do is give apologies from an amateur and responsible bull terrier owner.
