Stephen Jones, a manager at We Fight Any Claim, said he was not able to comment on specific cases.
However, he said a number of claims they were dealing with had been delayed after the banks, through the British Banking Association, applied for a judicial review over the repayment of PPI claims.
After several months, a judgement was passed last month in favour of consumers and the banks had until this week to appeal.
Mr Jones said this delay was ‘unforeseen’ and insisted his company was doing everything in its power to process claims as quickly as possible.
He said: “I don’t know of the particular client and I can’t comment on that, but what I do know is there has been quite a lengthy period of time where the banks have stopped paying out on PPI claims.
“We can deal with some claims within eight days but it depends on the banks and whether or not they admit the PPI claim or not.”
Mr Jones added: “A client’s money remains in a client account until either we have a successful claim or unsuccessful claim or the client cancels.”
