ONE mum wanted to thank nurses for the help they gave her daughter.
Rosemary Locock, of Upwey, lost her daughter Karina to cancer on June 1, 2003. She was just 17 years old.
Mrs Locock wanted to thank the councillors at Weldmar Hospicecare Trust and the nurses at Dorset County Hospital and Southampton General Hospital for their help and support.
She said: “I would just like to say thank you to the nurses and doctors at Dorset County Hospital Kingfisher ward and the Piam Brown unit at Southampton General Hospital.
“Thank you to all of them for the help they gave. They did absolutely fantastic work.”
She added: “It’s not until you are faced with something like that, that you realise the work they do.
“They are the unsung heroes. People expect them to be there and take for granted the good work they do. It’s good to say thank you to them.”
