A WEYMOUTH man caught dealing drugs in an undercover police operation has returned to court after breaching the terms of his sentence.

Steven Brendan Clinton Lucas, aged 38, of Newberry Road, was handed a 12-month community order in April last year after being arrested as part of Dorset Police’s Operation Dismantle.

The order, which was imposed for an offence of supplying class A drugs, included a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement and a supervision requirement.

A three-month curfew was also added to the order last December for a previous breach.

Lucas appeared at Dorchester Crown Court for his latest hearing and admitted a further breach of the supervision requirement and two breaches of the curfew in February.

Marcus Tregilgas-Davey, representing Lucas, said that month his client had invited an ex-drug addict he knew to stay at his home.

He said they began dealing again and Lucas, who had successfully completed the drug rehabilitation element of his sentence, admitted he was tempted to relapse into drug use.

Mr Tregilgas-Davey said the breaches occurred because, in order to remove himself from temptation, Lucas left his home and went to stay with his mother in London.

Judge Roger Jarvis imposed a new three-month community order with an eight-week curfew requirement at Lucas’ mother’s address in Queen’s Road, Peckham.

He said: “If there are any further breaches you will probably go into custody.”
