THIEVES broke into a children’s nursery, police said.
The Tops Day Nursery in Carey Road in Wareham was targeted when burglars forced their way through a door and made off with a safe and an iPod.
Officers are not revealing how much money was in the safe at the time of the robbery.
They are making an appeal for information now but said the nursery was burgled between 8.15pm on Tuesday, April 5 and 6.50am on Wednesday, April 6.
Police Constable Claire Gunn, of Purbeck police, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this burglary and anyone who has any information to call Dorset Police.
“I would also like to talk to anyone who noticed anything unusual in the Carey Road area at that time.”
