WITH the Olympics drawing ever-nearer, could we not spend a little of the money improving the Preston Beach Wall?

It is and always has been a total ugly eyesore. Perhaps we could spend a little of the money on a mosaic (welcome to Weymouth and Portland), with perhaps a Sailing boat on either end denoting and promoting the Sailing Olympics.

We seem to be wasting vast amounts of money on very “unintelligent” traffic lights, laser lights along the front, which are not in keeping with a Victorian family resort. Goodness knows how much other monies have been wasted in this way.

One thing the council have got right and that is removing the “Noddy hut” entrance to the Pavilion at long last!

Can you please now spend money on what you think would “benefit” Weymouth as a whole and not make a laughing stock of all that has been achieved up to now!

It would be refreshing if local people were counted in the equation and not all veered to a short-lived event, “good as it is”.
