TOMORROW is the last day for Echo readers to win one of 27 fabulous prizes and help Dorset County Hospital’s breast cancer scanner at the same time.

The Echo launched its biggest charity fundraiser of the year last Wednesday in the hope of raising vital funds for the county’s digital mammography appeal.

Appropriately the competition is being held at the same time as the World Cancer Research Fund’s Cancer Prevention Week which is trying to highlight the 47,600 new cases of breast cancer every year.

In order to donate £1 to the charity all you have to do is enter the Echo’s competition outlined on this page and answer the simple question.

All the proceeds of the calls will be donated straight to the appeal to help organisers reach their target of £500,000 so that they can purchase and install a new digital mammography machine at the county’s hospital.

The appeal has already inspired people across to Dorset to put on cake sales, run races and hold street parties to raise money.

Prizes have been donated from celebrities and businesses especially for the Echo appeal in order to attract more readers to enter.

Lord Julian Fellowes donated a signed script from the first series of Downton Abbey along with a signed DVD.

Patron of the appeal Philipa Clunes, producer of Doc Martin and wife of Martin Clunes, donated a walk-on part on the hit TV show Doc Martin for one lucky winner.

If you are looking for a family prize then phone and enter the weekend pass for a family to Camp Bestival, or an annual family pass to Abbotsbury Swannery, including the sub-tropical gardens and the children’s farm. The winner will also get to name a newly born cygnet to leave a legacy at the swannery for thousands to see.

Echo editor Toby Granville said: “Now is the time to pick up the phone and call or text to win one of these incredible prizes.

“We’re giving away thousands of pounds worth of prizes in total so make sure you don’t miss out.”

Phone lines close at midnight on Wednesday, May 11.
