COOL Britannia was the theme for one Dorchester couple’s big day.
Kelly Strawbridge, 28, married James Hedges, 34, on St George’s Day, April 23, at St Mary’s Church in Dorchester.
Taking on St George as the theme for the day the couple had a red and white theme to their big day.
The congregation sang Jerusalem during the service and walked out of the church to Rule Britannia. There was even a London Routemaster bus to carry the guests to the reception at the Rembrandt Hotel in Weymouth.
The couple’s four-year-old son Alfie was the ring-bearer while younger brother Callum, one, was dressed up smart and sat observing the proceedings.
Kelly, who walked down the aisle to Take That’s Greatest Day said that the day had been perfect.
She said: “It was really good. Just a very fun day, everything went perfectly.”
The couple wanted to thank the vicar at St Mary’s Church for his fantastic and child-friendly service and Angela Hawtin and the staff at the Rembrandt Hotel for all their hard work and support.
The bride and groom are looking forward to taking their family to Ireland later in the year.
