BUILDING could start later this year if the plans get the green light from Weymouth and Portland Borough Council.
The 176-home development ranges from one bedroomed flats to four bedroomed detached houses and five bedroomed townhouses.
These also include semi-detached houses, bungalows and under local planning guidelines 30 per cent of the homes will be ‘affordable housing’ managed by Synergy Housing.
The affordable housing is made up of 53 homes split into shared ownership and rental and the plans also include room for 320 cars.
Managing director Stephen Cummings said the new homes would tidy up an end of Littlemoor and residents would be able to enjoy walks along the stream currently hidden in agricultural land.
He said: “This development has got more open space than any other in the area with one of the lowest densities you will see as we are about 50 short.”
He said the council has assured them that local schools would be able to incorporate new children and said the houses will be ideally located for drivers to access the newly developed Littlemoor Road via Louviers Road.
