POLICE are renewing an appeal for witnesses after a man died in a crash on the A31 near Bere Regis.
Motorcyclist Warren Edward Jackson, 43, an Army sergeant from Poole, died at the scene of the collision at Almer about 6.45pm on Friday April 29.
Officers say they would like to talk to potential witnesses.
Sergeant Steve Quill, of the Traffic Department, said: “The collision happened on the evening of the Royal Wedding.
“I am especially keen to identify and locate one or more witnesses in a red sports car type vehicle.
“This car was probably a two-seater. It could also have been a very sporty hatchback.
“The car was travelling from the Bere Regis direction toward Stag Gate and stopped briefly at the scene.
“The occupants of this vehicle were probably aware of the incident but may have been unaware of its seriousness.
“I would encourage them to contact me urgently as they may have vital information that could assist the investigation.”
Following the collision a 41-year-old Devon man was arrested on suspicion of driving offences.
He was later released on bail while police enquiries continue.
An inquest into the death of Warren Edward Jackson was opened and adjourned on Thursday last week.
