HORRIFIED parents discovered rainwater “pouring” into the room where their baby slept during the storms at the weekend.
Claire Jones went to check on her 16-month-old daughter Maisie at 9pm on Friday as she slept.
When she thought she could hear water running she called out to her partner Peter Osmer and they discovered rain was leaking in through the ceiling.
The couple told how most of the room in their flat in St Thomas Street, Weymouth, was wet and they feared the ceiling might collapse.
Miss Jones, 23, said: “I put my head around the door to see if she was sleeping and I heard some dripping water and called Pete. It was going everywhere.
“We got Maisie out straight away and I’m just glad the ceiling’s still up.”
Mr Osmer, 38, described the water as ‘horrendous’.
He said: “It was pouring in – I’ve never seen anything like it.
“Everything was literally soaking wet except luckily the one spot where my little girl was.”
The couple have complained to their private landlord, who was unavailable for comment.
