GREEN-fingered Magna Housing Association residents are being invited to take part in the organisation’s annual gardening competition.
Organisers are hoping to attract entries from people who take a pride in their gardens but have not entered the contest before.
Director David Aldwinckle said: “Judges will be looking for imagination used in gardens. Different ways of planting, different colours or just an imaginative use of space.”
The prizes are £65 in gardening vouchers for first prize, with an annual subscription to Gardeners’ World magazine as second prize.
Third prize is a family ticket to Abbotsbury Sub-tropical Gardens.
Last year, the judges said they were amazed by the lovely gardens they saw in all categories One of them David Downton, from Dorchester Horticultural Society, said: “Colour, extraordinary use of space and creativity, reflected the dedication of the gardeners.”
This year’s categories are small gardens, large gardens, vegetable gardens, patio and containers and communal gardens.
Last year’s runners-up in the large gardens category included Alison Waterman and Richard Middleton.
Judging will take place in July.
For an entry form, call Jane Fisher on 01305 216125. It needs to be returned to Magna by June 17.
