While I sympathise with the family whose dog was put down (I like dogs) I saw the goings-on when he was caught at Wyke Regis the other week.
I was held up on the main road and, along with most of the other drivers, rapidly wound up my window when I saw the animal.
It’s a sad fact that we read all too often of children getting their faces ripped off by dangerous dogs and the authorities were absolutely right to take no risks with this one.
The cute puppy pictured on the front of the Echo was not the big fella that I saw apprehended.
Yes, it looked frightened, but it also looked capable of doing some serious damage to humans if so inclined.
Remember, this was a rottweiler called ‘Lennox’ presumably, like the ‘Tysons’ and others of its ilk, named after a heavyweight boxer.
