- THE CHESIL Bank Garden Club annual Plant Sale is on Saturday, May 7th 10am to 12 noon – this is always well worth a visit, especially if you get there in good time to bag the choicest plants! – refreshments are available, also.
- VILLAGE Club meets on Tuesday, May 5th at 7.30 pm – the speaker is Brian Bates and he will be guiding us on ‘A Walk Thro’ 17th Century Dorchester’ which sounds interesting & it will be fun to see what we can still recognise! - visitors welcome, £2.00.
- WHAT a splendid Coffee & Hot Cross Bun morning we had – thanks to all you lovely people over £250 were raised toward speakers for the Village Club! – many thanks everyone.
We also had a Ragbag collection on the same morning and sent off 11 large bags – I will let you know how much we make for the Village Hall & Church at a later date. Don’t forget – go on saving your old fabric, I will always accept it, if you can’t keep it till the next collection (probably after the fete!).
- THE BENEFICE is having a spate of deaths, Langton said goodbye to Vera Smith this week – Vera had lived in the village for over 50 years – passionate about her beautiful garden, flower arranging, painting and of course, her family.
Several of us owe what flower arranging skills we have, to Vera & Joan’s classes – and what fun we had! She was also a regular Judge for the Flower & Vegetable Show – our sympathy goes to Mary, John & the family – Rest in Peace, Vera.
