- ST PETER’S Church are looking forward to welcoming the rest of the Benefice for the Candlemas Service on January 30th at 10.30am, when we celebrate the end of the Christmas & Epiphany seasons (40 days after the Birth of Christ).
There will be lots of candles (naturally!) and all the Clergy & Readers will be taking part – do come and join us also in the hall afterwards for coffee.
- LANGTON Herring Village Club was started about 36 years ago when we became too small to support the WI – this way the men could join too(!) - we meet 1st Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm, always ready to welcome visitors or new members for the talk, sometimes illustrated, and refreshments if desired.
Tuesday, February 1st is our AGM (very short meeting) followed by ‘It’s a Grave Business - Dead Interesting Dorset’ – Rob Curtis is an excellent speaker (you may remember Dorset Pubs & Pub Signs), he is a retired RAF officer & a SW Tourism Blue Badge Guide full of interesting stories.
- TUESDAY, 25th February the Lunch Club will meet for the first time this year – it is a wonderful afternoon thoroughly enjoyed by it members, good food and a good natter!
I expect a lot of talk will be about the cold weather & the lack of grit for the roads, also what we did & didn’t get for Christmas!
- THAT will be a busy day, because in the evening at 7.30 pm we are travelling “From Kuari to Kiwi” with Sally Fielding at the Garden Club in the hall, to see some of the marvels of New Zealand - do join us.
- REMEMBER the Italian Murder Mystery Theme Night on Saturday, 29th January at 8-8.30 pm – sounds like it could be fun!
