AT the start of this New Year, speculation continues concerning the development of Radipole at the New Look site.
Many months have passed since the last public consultations and a planning application had been anticipated before the end of 2010.
Hopes, fears and rumours are growing as the precise proposals and plans are awaited for this area, which is soon to be featuring the Park & Ride, linked with the Relief Road, so the elements of change are assembling fast.
They really need to be in place for next year’s Olympics, if the aim is to complete by then!
THE New Year brings plans for the replacement of the Radipole Village Scout Hut towards fruition.
Subject to building regulations and the tendering process, work is expected to start in the spring, with the aim of providing a long awaited state of the art hall to meet the needs of the scouts in the 21st century.
Having raised £112,000, there is still £50,000 to find in order to pay off the loan, in full, so the scouts need help and will continue with their fundraising during 2011.
THE St Aldhelm’s Friday Night Friends Club resumes on January 14 in the Church Lounge at 7.30pm.
New members are especially welcome and the first meeting will feature Mary Bothamley, presenting an illustrated talk on her trip to New Zealand.
THE Friends of Radipole Park & Gardens are preparing for their next quiz, which is planned for Saturday, February 19 at the Centenary Club, starting at 7pm.
Tickets at £7 including a ploughman’s supper are much in demand for this popular event, so early booking is advised. Tel: 01305 779559.
