- COFFEE and carols by candlelight begins the Christmas season at Lanehouse Rocks Methodist Church, Lynch Lane, at 7pm on Monday, December 13. You are invited to come along and choose your favourite carols to sing, bring along a poem or reading and enjoy coffee and mince pies.
All are welcome, entrance is free and there will be a collection for the NCH which is now known as Action for Children.
The church is also holding a Christmas carol service on Sunday, December 19 at 10.30am, and a the Christingle service on Christmas Eve at 4pm.
- IT’S ADVENT, Prayer and Poetry at St Edmunds on Tuesday, December 14 at 7pm. The church’s Carols by Candlelight will take place on Christmas Eve at 6.30pm. The singing doesn’t stop there as the church is also holding a service of Carols of Praise on Sunday, January 2, at 11am.
Services of Holy Communion will be held in the church on Christmas Day at 11am and Boxing Day at 11am.
- IF YOU like a traditional service of Nine Lessons and Carols you can go along to one at All Saints, Wyke, on Sunday, December 19, at 6pm. Or for something more informal and geared towards children why not try the church’s Family Christmas Celebration and Nativity with balloons on Christmas Eve at 4pm.
Christmas Communion services will be held at All Saints at 10.30am, 4pm and 11.30pm on Christmas Eve, 8am and 9.30am on Christmas Day and 9.30am on Boxing Day.
