DORSET County Council’s gritting teams took to the roads again yesterday to combat the icy, dangerous conditions for motorists.
All the main road networks were treated and many local communities in rural areas were also gritted. A council spokesperson said: “Salt stocks are still high and the county council's resilience against continued icy or snow conditions is good at around 25 days' salting at three to four runs per day. In normal conditions of plus temperature days and subzero nights Dorset County Council has enough salt stocks to last for 85 days before running out.”
