RESIDENTS have the chance to log on and join in a meeting about community safety from the comfort of their own homes.

A click of the mouse will enable people to ask representatives from the Dorset Community Safety Partnership (CSP) questions about crime and safety issues at the virtual meeting.

They can ask questions live or email questions and suggestions at the December 8 meeting between 4pm and 6pm.

They could also speak to representatives in person by attending the meeting at the Dorford Centre in Dorchester.

Peoples’ views are needed to help make communities safer.

Priorities identified to help tackle crime and anti-social behaviour include reducing violent crime, protecting people known to be at risk, addressing anti-social behaviour, maintaining low levels of crime, working with individuals and groups at risk of offending, tackling road safety issues, including speeding and helping communities feel safer.

Councillor Ray Nottage, chairman of the CSP, will answer questions at the meeting alongside representatives from Dorset Police, Dorset County Council, Dorset Fire & Rescue Service and the NHS and Dorset Probation Trust.

County residents can log on to the meeting at dorsetforyou.com/virtualmeeting and can email questions and suggestions in advance to n.whitley@dorsetcc.gov.uk.

They can also be sent by post to Nicky Whitley, Community Safety Team, Colliton Annex, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester, DT1 1XJ.
