• MEMBERS of Slimming World, which is held at the Emmanual Church, Southill, voted for Carole Peadon as Miss Slinky 2010 at their Monday 5.30pm sessions.

The other finalists were Sue, who has lost one stone (5.8 Kg) and Jo, who has lost three stone one-and-a-half pounds (18.1 Kg) in approximately nine months.

Carole received congratulations on losing 26 Kg, or nearly four-and-a-half-stone, in 18 months, while planning for her wedding in January 2011.

  • A TEAM of Cubs from Weymouth North Pack recently travelled to Christchurch to compete in the Dorset County Cub Scouts Annual Quiz.

They came second, which was quite an achievement, as they were the only team of four, all the other teams had six members!

  • THE Acting Caledonians of Weymouth are presenting their 39th pantomime, Aladdin, which will be the usual mix of fun, music and entertainment for all ages.

  • FRIENDS of Southill School (FOSS) are organising a Christmas shopping trip to Ikea, Southampton and West Quay on Saturday, December 4.

    There are still a few places available.

    The coach will leave Southill School at 7.30am (arriving at 9.30am). The coach will depart Southampton at 5.30pm, returning to school at about 7.30pm.
