- A CONCERT featuring local singer Ed Hintze will take place on Saturday, November 20, starting at 7.30pm at St Edmund’s Church Hall in Lanehouse Rocks Road.
You may remember that Ed became quite a star locally after his appearances on the TV programme “The One and Only!” with his Elton John tribute act.
This will be a concert of two halves with Ed playing his own style of music in the first half. After the interval, which will include a light supper, Ed will begin the second half with his Elton John tribute act.
Tickets are available at £6 each. To order these please contact 01305 785811, 01305 787970 or St Edmund’s church secretary on 01305 750836.
Tickets are also available from Mike at St Edmund’s Church and from Jenny Hinde at All Saints’ Church, Wyke.
- SPIRIT of Wyke WI is the name of a brand new WI group in Wyke. The inaugural meeting is to be held at the Wyke Smugglers, Wyke Regis, on November 3 at 7.30pm.
As is the custom with all Womens Institute groups, there is no age limit and everyone is welcome to go to this meeting and listen to the founder members’ plans for the future of the group.
- ORGANISERS of this year’s Wyke Street Fayre are grateful to Direct Moves for their sponsorship of this year’s event. Anyone who lives in a position where an advertising board could be displayed and who is willing to have one should contact Kate Wheller on 01305 839747.
- BRAND new and good quality secondhand furniture, musical instruments, electrical goods and a wide selection of toys, books, clothes and other items are available at the spacious premises of the new Sue Ryder Care shop situated at the Chickerell Road end of Abbotsbury Road.
There is free offroad parking in front of the shop which is open six days a week. Donations of items in good condition are always appreciated and furniture can be collected or delivered free of charge. Tax payers may gift aid their donations.
So why not pop into the shop to have a browse and find out more, including when the next musical ‘jamming’ session will take place.
