- Wyke artist photographer Roger Smith is exhibiting his work at Whitestone Cafe Gallery in Easton, Portland, until November 16.
Included in the exhibition is work by Roger's photography student, John Cleverton, who has Aspergers Syndrome.
For the past year 17 year old John has been mentored by Roger Smith from Jurassic Coast Gallery. Roger has given John confidence to develop his artistic talent and helped him learn new photographic skills enabling him to use his camera to capture images from his own uniquely individual perspective.
This is John’s first exhibition and he is not only hoping visitors will enjoy his work but that it will also inspire people with similar difficulties to his own.
Also participating in the exhibition are Adam Feery, a London landscape photographer who specialises in pictures of the Dorset Jurassic coastline and Lucy Broddle of Lucy Jane Jewellery Designs.
- THE Friends of Wyke Memorial Hall apologise to anyone who was disappointed there was no Table Top Sale earlier in the month. These sales have been suspended for the time being because several bookings taken recently for parties and other events have clashed with dates for the table top sales.
Any organisations who would like to hire the hall for their own fund raising events or meetings should contact the secretary on 077655 81937
- WESTHAM Methodist Church, Newstead Road, is staging an awareness evening on Tuesday, October 19, at 7pm, for anyone wanting to find out how to make a difference for children elsewhere in the world who do not expect to receive a Christmas present this year.
