TARA Gooding, Borough Parks Development Officer briefed the Friends of Radipole Park and Gardens, prior to their litter pick.
Meeting at the children’s’ play area, an enthusiastic group of volunteers made short work of tidying the park and gardens, which are now looking spectacular.
MEANWHILE, over at Lodmoor Country Park, Carl Dallison, Borough Parks and Open Spaces Manager, was leading a “Tree Time Walk”, noting the development of individual trees, fruits and seeds in a two hour guided tour.
This being the third such venture proved more popular than ever, with friends of LCP being joined by new members, keen to enjoy finding out about the park’s ecology with an interesting and enthusiastic guide.
LODMOOR Country Park Friends are delighted to hear that Community Spaces Funding, has agreed to support fully their bid for the Lodmoor Green Gym.
The full £43,000 has been promised, so this will allow for the full twenty-two pieces of outdoor gym equipment around a two-kilometre route in Lodmoor Country Park.
The money also enables the upgrading of the path for the route.
The friends are grateful for all the help and support, that has contributed to the success of the bid.
The next stage is for their chosen contractors to plan the building and installation of the equipment.
There will be an official launch, to which all friends, helpers and well wishers will be invited.
