- WEYMOUTH Family Church are running a three session course with Christians Against Poverty (CAP) beginning on Thursday, October 7, from 7.30pm to 9pm at Conifers Primary School, Radipole Lane.
The course is run by qualified money coaches and teaches how to budget, reduce debt, save and plan for the future.
CAP also offer free counselling and advice for anyone battling with unmanageable debt.
This CAP Money course is free of charge and open to anyone but as places are limited, you do have to book in advance.

- THE FRIENDS of Conifers school are holding a 'bag2school' fundraising initiative.
To take part please place unwanted but good quality adults’ and children’s clothing, bedding, curtains, soft toys, shoes, belts or handbags in a black bin liner and bring it into the school on Monday, October 11 between 8am and 9am.
Please sort out just the items listed. No bric-a-brac etc can be accepted.
This is to help raise money for outside equipment for the school.
- FUN WORKSHOPS are being held every Saturday morning this month at Westham Methodist Church from 10.15am to 11.30am.
Coffee and croissants are served followed by the workshops with a different topic each week.
On October 9 it’s dancing with Lisa, on October 16 there will be a cookery session, on October 23 there’s clowning with Daphne and on October 30 Tracy is organising a crafts workshop.
Cost is £1.50 per person and all children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult responsible for them.
- SLIMMING World are starting up a brand new group on Wednesday, October 6, at 7.30pm at St Pauls Church Hall, Abbotsbury Road.
New consultant, Chris Haddon, will be running this group.
Chris has lost over four stone with Slimming World and loves the fact that after over 20 years of struggling with her weight and feeling dowdy with no self-confidence, she now feels a million dollars. She wants to share that feeling and all the health benefits that go with it with other people in the local area.
