A SUCCESSFUL Prize Bingo evening was held at the John Gregory and raised £400 for the Shelterbox appeal.
The Mayor, Coun Paul Kimber expressed his delight to be involved, as Shelterbox is one of his chosen charities.
This enjoyable evening was organised by Ian and Liz Brooke, who thank the John Gregory for hosting the event, the local businesses for the generous prizes and all the supporters.
FRIENDS of Lodmoor Country Park open meeting, at the Lodmoor Inn, was well attended.
Discussion centred on the design of the soon to be installed children’s play equipment and the progress of the bid for the Green Gym.
Fundraising for picnic benches and other projects is being co-ordinated and forthcoming events include an autumn “Tree Time Walk” on Saturday, October 9.
This involves looking at the fruits and seeds on trees in the park.
The walk will again be led by Borough Parks Manager, Carl Dallison whose fact-filled talks on previous walks were enjoyed by all who attended.
To join in, meet at the children's swings at 10am.
A charge of £1 per adult is made towards the Green Gym project and accompanied children are welcome.
