A 16-YEAR-OLD boy was attacked and robbed by three men after they followed him through Weymouth late at night.

The teenager was grabbed by the neck and dragged into the road as the men stole £150 and left him with grazes and bruising, as well as a broken mobile phone.

A Dorset Police spokesman said the teenage boy was followed from the Nothe to Brewers Quay and onto Rodwell Avenue and Buxton Road before being attacked at Verne Road.

PC Vicky Bailey, of Weymouth Police, said: “Upon reaching Verne Road one of the men grabbed him by the neck and dragged him into the road demanding his wallet.

“The robbers took £150 in cash and his mobile phone was broken during the attack.”

She said two of the offenders were wearing dark-coloured hooded tops and the third was wearing a green hooded fleece.

PC Bailey is hoping someone saw the men follow their victim down the Hill Lane path that runs from the Nothe to Hope Square.

PC Bailey added: “I understand from the victim that a number of people walked past him when he was being followed by the offenders.

“I am keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the three men at Brewers Quay or in the Wyke Regis area.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who recognises the description of their clothing.”

The robbery happened near to The Bath Store between 12am and 12.30am on Saturday, August 28.
