DRIVERS faced delays after a crash in rush hour on the A35 near Dorchester.

A caravan being towed by a Land Rover and a lorry collided on the Puddletown bypass near the Tolpuddle turn off at 4pm yesterday.

Police put in a roadblock from the Blandford turn off while debris from the crash was cleared from the scene.

The road was closed for over an hour and motorists travelling in the eastbound direction faced tailbacks reaching the Troytown turn off.

A Dorset Police spokesman at the scene said there were no injuries.

The silver Land Rover Discovery Estate was registered to a Reading man and the white Iveco lorry was registered to a Gateshead company.

Police confirmed that by 5.22pm both vehicles had been recovered and the road was re-opened.
