AN 83-YEAR-OLD man returned from hospital to find out he had been burgled.
The burglars broke into the man’s house in Martinstown, near Dorchester, by forcing their way through a window.
The thieves then made off with a wallet - containing around £100 cash.
Police Constable Melanie Caldow, of Dorchester police, said: “The elderly victim was visiting hospital at the time of the incident and he returned to find out that this upsetting crime had taken place.
“Naturally, this burglary has also affected the local community and I am determined to bring those responsible to justice.
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the Martinstown area – perhaps a visitor behaving in an unusual manner – to contact me as soon as possible.
“All calls are treated in the strictest of confidence.”
The burglary happened in the Park Farm Close area between 10.30am and 2pm on Monday(August 23.
