THIS morning, as I was about to step onto the pavement from the steps leading to/from the Morrison supermarket, I had to pull up smartly to avoid being run down by a young female cyclist.
I would have liked to remonstrate with her but she must have been travelling in excess of 20mph and that is no exaggeration.
The pavement is very narrow there as your staff will testify and there is also a bus stop.
At the speed she was travelling, she could not possibly have stopped and injuries would have been severe. It was recklessness of the worst kind.
As I understand it, cycling on a pavement is against the law.
When is Dorset Police going to make this clear to all and start protecting pedestrians from fools, young and old, like this?
