IT'S good news for the Chapelhay community play garden.
At the judging of the Synergy Weymouth and Portland annual garden competition on Tuesday, July 13, the judges felt that the play area and gardens were worthy of a special award and £50 in vouchers to reward the community and local children.
Chairman of the Play Garden Group, Clare Sutton, said: "We are all very pleased with this award.
"Thanks and congratulations go to you all for your hard work."
Synergy Weymouth and Portland have invited the group to a prizegiving ceremony at Egdon Hall, Lynch Lane, Weymouth, in October.
The Play Garden Group meet on the first Sunday of every month from 11.30am to 12.30am all year round.
The next fun and works hour is on Sunday, September 5 at 11.30am.
The children can plant seeds and flowers in the 'Let's Grow' garden so please come and join us.
