FUNDRAISERS are spinning back to the 90s for a Nostalgia fancy-dressed fundraiser in Weymouth.

Organisers of popular rave and Dirty Dancing-themed events have now set their sights on the decade – and want people to bring their whistles and glow sticks.

They are staging the Nostalgia party night at Banus on Bond Street on Friday, August 20, from 10pm to 4am in aid of the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.

Organiser Melissa Allen-Denton said: “We want people to come in fancy dress and bring glow sticks and whistles.

“There will be an additional room dedicated solely to nineties chart music and alternative, such as the Stone Roses and Charlatans.

“Overall the whole club will be used for different variations on the nineties theme, so there is something for everyone.

“Banus have kindly offered us the club for free and it’s upfront entry on the door.”

She added: “We have a lot of interest.

“It will be the last good nostalgic blow out of the summer before the fun ends.

“We have a large team of DJs and MCs and would love some requests from nineties fans, particularly for the chart room where people can get quite passionate about the good old days.”

The main room at Banus will be early nineties and oldskool rave. The upstairs bar will be nineties chart and disco. The Kazzbar will be nineties hardcore.

DJs will include Richie T, DJ Mallow, Swannie, Dj Gee, Ickle C, Leon Gallie, DJ Mel, DJ Flory, Jamie C and Cause n Effect.

Tickets are £5 on the door and people are advised to get there early.
