PEOPLE in Dorset can now refer themselves for expert help if they fear they are having a psychotic episode.

The direct help is on offer through the Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust’s early intervention in psychosis service.

The service was set up for people who experience psychosis for the first time and it is particularly aimed at those between 14 and 35 years old, who might be experiencing a psychotic or suspected psychotic episode.

Telling signs may include hearing voices, experiencing changes in thoughts, alterations in perception of events, feelings of suspicion, distressing thoughts and beliefs, changes in motivation, behaviour or a decline in normal functioning.

For more information or to self refer to see one of the professionals contact the service on 01202 584488.
