A TOTAL of 12 arrests have been made on Portland since a 51-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman were attacked in Easton on July 3.

Of the total, seven were in relation to that attack.

And five Portland men and boys have been arrested since officers promised to tackle anti-social behaviour at a meeting at the Clifton Hotel on Monday, July 12.

* A 28-year-old was arrested and charged for possession of an offensive weapon and being drunk while in charge of a child.

* A 22-year-old man was arrested and cautioned for possessing cannabis.

* A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged for possession of cannabis and is on bail.

* An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of breaching his Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) and he is on bail.

* A 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged with breach of bail and resisting arrest and is also on bail.

Officers searched three individuals and issued two of them with a warning for possession of cannabis. A small amount of cannabis was also seized.

Officers used dispersal orders to direct four individuals to leave Weston Road and Yeomans Quarry after reports of anti-social behaviour.

Restraining orders were placed on an 18-year-old man and two 15-year-old boys to prohibit them from going to certain areas of the island.
