EIGHT teenagers have been arrested in connection with a break-in at the Sea Life Park in Weymouth.
The group of youths, all aged between 13 and 16, were spotted leaving the marine life attraction in Lodmoor on Wednesday night.
This is the third recent break-in at the Sea Life Park two separate incidents in May when raiders caused thousands of pounds worth of damage. A Dorset Police spokesman confirmed that there was ‘an alleged break-in at the Sea Life centre’.
He said: “We received a call from a man on a mobile who said there was a break-in in progress and that the alleged offenders were making off.
“Officers searched the area with the assistance of a helicopter and eight people were arrested.
“It was a mixture of boys and girls aged between 13 and 16.”
There were six boys and two girls came from Weymouth and Portland.
Police say nothing was stolen but a pane of glass had been smashed near a fish enclosure and ‘entry had been made to a kiosk by forcing a wooden frontage shutter open’. Anyone with information should contact Dorset Police in on 01305 222222.
