YouFirst, Chickerell’s youth forum held a family fun day on Willowbed field.
A great day was had by everyone who attended, activities included the mobile skate park, a water test, a bouncy castle, Wii games and even sumo wrestling!
The youth forum are raising money towards community seating for the Willowbed field and are doing a fantastic job.
PC Stan Knight was the chef for the day cooking up perfect burgers and hotdogs.
Emma Scott, West Dorset District Council’s Community Development Officer said: “I was very impressed with the Chickerell Fun day, which brought together many people of all ages. Everyone had a lot of fun and the event was really well organised.
“ Youfirst, the youth forum for Chickerell who helped to plan the day, should be really proud of themselves.
“Councillors from Chickerell Town Council who were there commented on how impressed they were with the behaviour and attitudes of all the young people involved.”
The Mayor of Chickerell, Councillor Jean Dunseith, attended and took part in the Wii games.
Coun Dunseith said: “It was lovely to see the young people of Chickerell working together so well to create a fun day for everyone. They should be very proud of themselves and their positive attitudes in raising money for a community facilitiy should be applauded.”
